National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan

In Pakistan, competitions are initially held at the provincial levels, from where students are shortlisted to participate in the Regeneron ISEF affiliated National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan. Every year 3 to 7 projects (5 to 10 students) are selected to participate at the international fair. The initiative was launched in Pakistan in 2004 by Intel Education Initiative, with the aim of promoting students’ interest in science and research, to infuse the spirit of discovery in school children, increase their interest in science and technology, and build a robust scientific temper among the youth of the country. Ever since there has been no looking back. Each year, research-based science projects by young students, are reviewed by an eminent jury comprising of scientists and domain experts. Then, the short-listed entries are showcased at the annual National Science and Engineering Fair. In the past few years projects designed by Pakistani students have won many positions at international competitions. Since 2006, there have been 21 positions won by Pakistani students at ISEF only.

An Nafi Educational Technologies (ANETech) is the only registered agency with the Society for Science (USA), for the program implementation in Pakistan. The local implementation agency (ANETech) is the driving force for Regeneron ISEF program in Pakistan to hold Science Fairs all across the country arranged at the provincial and national levels.

National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan 2024

The National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan (NSEF) 2024 was held in January 2025 at Lahore. It aims to provide young scientists of Pakistan an opportunity to showcase their innovative thoughts and ideas nationally, as well as internationally. The winners of NSEF represent Pakistan’s talent at a global stage by competing at the world’s largest pre-college international science fair, namely, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), USA. The National Science and Engineering Fair is the only fair in Pakistan affiliated with the Regeneron ISEF, USA.

National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan 2023

For the year 2023-24 the in-person award ceremony of the National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan was held in December 2023 after several rounds of virtual and in-person evaluations. Both Grand Awards, and the Special Awards were announced and distributed among the Regeneron ISEF 2024 Finalists, Best of Category and Special Award winners.

For the year 2022-23 the in-person award ceremony of the National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan was held in January 2023 after several rounds of virtual and in-person evaluations. Both Grand Awards, and the Special Awards were announced and distributed among the Regeneron ISEF 2023 Finalists, Best of Category and Special Award winners.

National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan 2021

The In-person Award Distribution Ceremony of the hybrid National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan was held on 12 and 13 February, 2022 to announce the Regeneron ISEF 2022 Finalists, with support from Society for Science, USA through the Equitable Access Fund Grant. The grant once again made it possible for us to celebrate the hard work of our young champions !

National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan 2020

The Closing Award Distribution Ceremony of the Virtual National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan was held on 17 and 18 March, 2021 to announce the Virtual Regeneron ISEF 2021 Finalists, with support from Society for Science, USA through the COVID-19 Transition Fund Grant. The grant helped make this year’s fair possible and helped us celebrate the hard work of our young scientists!

The National Science and Engineering Fair (NSEF) 2019-20 was organized as part of the activities of Shaukat Khanum Tigers’ Club. It aims to provide young scientists of Pakistan an opportunity to showcase their innovative thoughts and ideas nationally, as well as internationally. The winners of NSEF represent Pakistan’s talent at a global stage by competing at the world’s largest pre-college international science fair, namely, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), USA. The National Science and Engineering Fair is the only fair in Pakistan affiliated with the Regeneron ISEF, USA.

Earlier, Shaukat Khanum Tigers’ Club collaborated with Intel Corporation Pakistan and organized Punjab Provincial Science Fair, which was the feeder fair of the Intel National Science Fair for three consecutive years from 2014 to 2016. Then from 2017 to 2019, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital became directly affiliated with the national level Science Fair.
