Participation Guidelines for National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan 2025

Announcement !

We are currently planning that the National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan 2025 will be an in-person event only, that includes a judged competition and distribution of awards, both Grand Awards and the opportunity for Special Award Organizations to judge and name awardees. The decision is subject to change as per the situation across the region.

Who is Eligible to Participate:

Students of class 9 to 12 residing and studying in schools based in Pakistan. Students who have an idea that is original and innovative are eligible to participate as an individual or a team of two. Only research based projects or novel engineering design qualify to participate at the National Science and Engineering Fair Pakistan. Hence, your project must be original in content, and should be substantiated with data collected from experimentation. Engineering projects should have novelty over the existing solutions and a working proto-type.

Scientific Integrity:

Regeneron ISEF and NSEF Pakistan are clear and specific regarding their core value Scientific Integrity; that harms the spirit of equitable competition at international level, affiliated fair level and other local and regional scientific research activities:

  • The fair expects student scientists and their schools / colleges to uphold integrity and consider it their responsibility, for which they will be              held accountable.
  • The student scientist must not fabricate data or images, plagiarize or present someone else’s work as their own. Student scientists must                differentiate their own work from the work of others and cite sources. They must respect confidentiality and intellectual property.
  • Not fulfilling any of the above conditions, the student scientist will not be allowed to participate. Scientific fraud and misconduct are                       prohibited at all levels of research and competition.
  • A violation of this ethics statement may result in disqualification from participating in ISEF and ISEF-affiliated fairs, and forfeiture of        any awards, prizes, and acknowledgment received.

Participation Process:

  • Registration done only through schools / college / institutions is accepted. Only the school / college focal person / representative will be                  provided the registration pro forma / link. If you are interested please ask your school principal to email.
  • Participating student or team must fill in questions of the Research Plan which summarizes the research work done by student (s), after                  filling personal details in the Registration Form.
  • The Research Plan should clearly explain the purpose of the proposed research. Originality is a must.
  • For continuation projects describe all that the participant did last year and than explain clearly what new will be done during the current year.        Unless you are able to clearly explain the old Research Plan and the new Proposed Research Plan your entry will not be accepted and you will        not be allowed to participate.
  • Each student can enter only one project covering research done during a maximum of 12 continuous months, not more than that. If a                    student registers more than one project all his submissions will be disqualified.
  • Students will only be allowed if the parent and principal submit an undertaking along with his CNIC copy at the time of registration, agreeing        that the student may have to forfeit sitting in final matriculation / intermediate / O’ Level / A’ Level exams, if selected for Regeneron ISEF.
  • The participant will be contacted by the relevant regional coordinator to inform whether the submitted project Research Plan has been                    accepted / approved by the committee of subject specialists via email.
  • Please note that the Judges will have the final say and will hold all authority. Qualifying projects for the second and third round will again be          scrutinized by the National Scientific Review Committee.
  • Only qualifying projects / students will be eligible to proceed to next round. All students participating in the fair must adhere to rules as set            forth in Science Fair Guidelines.
